Here’s Why You Shouldn't Use A Body Scrub On Your Face

Dec 22, 2021

The skin of the face is very different from the skin of the body. Both areas need exfoliating, but the same product is unlikely to work for both. Body scrubs usually have a thicker consistency than facial scrubs. They also contain higher concentrations of acids, which can be too strong for facial skin and cause potential breakouts and irritation.

There are no one-size-fits-all rules about how often to exfoliate. We recommend that you start by exfoliating once a week and then gradually increase the number of exfoliations as you need. If your skin becomes uncomfortable or irritated after exfoliating, reduce the frequency of scrubbing or look for a gentler formula.

There is no one foolproof form of exfoliating that works for everyone. Dry, sensitive or acne-prone skin may prefer a milder option, while oily skin types may be better suited to stronger exfoliation.
