Facial cleanser is to remove dirt on the skin surface by moisturizing, emulsifying, or solubilizing the surface active agent. In addition, in order to prevent excessive degreasing and lubrication of the skin, an appropriate amount of emollients and moisturizers are generally added to achieve good moisturization and soft skin feel.
The components used in the facial cleanser are as follows:
(1) Surfactant (to clean the substrate)
Mainly play the role of washing and foaming
Soap base: It is composed of higher fatty acid and alkali agent.
Other surfactants: alkyl sulfate, N-acyl methyl taurate, alkyl glucoside, POE alkyl ether,
Disodium cocoamphodiacetate, etc.
(2) Moisturizer
Glycerin, 1,3-butanediol, dipropylene glycol, propylene glycol, sorbitol, etc.
(3) Emollient (fat excipient)
Fatty acids, vegetable oils (coconut oil, jojoba oil, olive oil, etc.), higher alcohols, lanolin derivatives, etc.
Mainly play the role of rich grease and lubrication
(4) Other components
Water-soluble polymers, preservatives, antioxidants, chelating agents, active ingredients, flavors, etc. Some facial cleansers also contain exfoliating particles.
